2nd De La Riva Cup Results November 2009
Saturday November 14, 2009. Right after the Miami International Open Team Third Law BJJ of Naples, FL already had some hungry students ready to go into battle. Joey Ruggiero and Jake Huffman decided to take a quick trip to Lakeland, FL
The day started with Jake Huffman winning the teens division. Jake is only 15 but he is built like an adult, really strong and explosive, so the teen division was an ease, and Jake won both the Gi and No-Gi Divisions at White belt for teens. Then he jumped into the adults division where he ended up taking silver in the Beginner No-Gi and Gold in the White Belt division. Congrats to Jake in this achievement. Jake had around 10 total matches on this day!
Joey Ruggiero would end up getting Second Place in the No-Gi Beginner Division with 3 fights total. Right after that Joey jumped in the Absolute Gi - Division where he won his first match and then lost to the champion of the division who had both size and strength as an advantage over Joey
